Turning back the link clocks to the pandemic era, Mido released link the first version in a limited run of 1,961 pieces in 2020, with the production size as an homage to link the 1961 model that it's based on – the Ocean Star Skin Diver.
The caliber 6139 changed the game in '69, but it also paved the way for significant watches that came shortly after the debut, link namely the 6139-6002, famously worn by Colonel William Pogue on the 1973 Skylab 4 mission. It's also widely believed to be the first automatic chronograph used in space, another quiet first link for Seiko. It's just a few more years until the 50th anniversary of that milestone.
